Leon T. Hanes, 81 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Sunday September 11, 2022.
He was born in Franklin, OH on October 11, 1940. The son of the late Willie Estel and Anna (Pieratt) Hanes. Besides is parents, he is also preceded by his siblings, Raymond Hanes, Maxine Powell, Myrte Slusher, Geneva Dougherty, Willie Hanes, Jr. and Evelyn Ellenburg.
Leon worked for Ford Motor Company for 31 years, was a member of UAW#863, loved his family and grandchildren, enjoyed farming and wood carving.
Leon is survived by his wife, Shirley (Lipps) Hanes, children, Theresa (Jim) Small of Franklin, John Hanes of Beaver, Terry (Penny) Hanes of Hillsboro, Everett (Tina) Hurst of Middletown, Kim (Dale) Bateman of Florida, Lisa (Keith) Chalk of Fairfield and Christopher Burden of Hillsboro, 13 grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren, sisters, Linda Carpenter of Kentucky and Donna Grau of West Chester and several nieces and nephews.
Leon's wishes were to be cremated.
Graveside Service will be 2:00 PM on Saturday October 8, 2022 at the Prospect Cemetery.
