Lester D. Baker, 77 years of Peebles, died Monday, May 22, 2006 at the U.C. Medical Center in Cincinnati.
He was born in Hyden, Kentucky on December 5, 1928 the son of the late Ford and Sophie Collins Bowling.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Columbus Southern Power Company and for twenty-three years operated Baker Satellite. He was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church, Zane?s Trace Antique Car Club, the American Legion, and the N.R.A.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, Matthew.
He was united in marriage on February 10, 1951 to Doris Wagers Baker, who survives. He is also survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Kimberly Baker of Peebles, Roger and Tami Baker of Brunswick, Ohio, daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Mort Eagleston of Peebles, brothers, Tony Baker of Texas, Ray Baker of Peebles, Rex Baker of Florida, Berry Baker of Peebles, grandchildren, Candy, Tabby, Derek, Zach, Michelle, and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with James Ritchie officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
