Lester U. Wallis, 88 years of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Highland District Hospital.
He was born at Milford, OH on July 21, 1924 the son of the late Albert and Velma Thompson Wallis. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one son Michael Wallis and one brother Howard Eugene Wallis.
Lester was a member of the Hillsboro 1st United Methodist Church, life member of the Highland County Historical Society, Southern Ohio Genealogy Society, 1st Families of Highland County, NRA, was a Avid Photographer, served in the US Army during WWII.
He owned and Operated Bert Wallis & Son Home Improvement.
He is survived by his wife whom he married on June 2, 1963, Jean Gall Wallis; one daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Andy Biggs of Loveland; niece Ruth Ann Dan Shively of Troy, TX; nephew, Eddie Wallis of Arizona; cousin Darrell Thompson of Arizona.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 31, 2012 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Mick Parks officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home.
