Linda Lou Mitchell 64 of Peebles, Ohio went to be with her Lord on September 20, 2013. She was born June 16, 1949.
She was preceded in death by her son Wm. Billy Mitchell and step-son Richie Brewer.
Linda is survived by her Parents Wm. Leslie and C. Urania Mitchell of Peebles, Daughter-in-Law Jennifer Mitchell of Peebles, Step Daughter Susan Gordon Farmer of Hamilton, Sisters: Vickie Penn of Peebles, Jennie Robert Hill of Otway, Brother: L. Wayne Julie Mitchell of Peebles, Step Grandchildren Jeffery, Christopher, Katie, and Julie Farmer of Hamilton.
Linda was a loving, caring, and kind Aunt to all her nieces, nephews, Grand nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Peebles High School in 1967 and the Mercy School of Nursing in Portsmouth in 1969. She had a 44 year nursing career. At the time of her death she was working at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown as a Registered Nurse Manager. In the past she had worked at the Adams County Hospital, Southern Ohio Health, and the North Adams Medical Center.
She served 10 years in the Ohio Military Reserves attaining the rank of Major. She served as a firefighter and safety officer for the Peebles Fire Department. She also was an investigator for the Adams County Coroner's Office.
She was a dedicated Sunday School teacher and a tireless worker in her church. She loved the Lord and placed him first in her life.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Peebles Church of God with Harold Keaton officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at Peebles Church of God. Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles is in charge of the arrangements.
