Lloyd Ray Palmer, 80 years of Hillsboro, formerly of Seaman, passed away on Friday August 30, 2013 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born in Adams County on December 4, 1932, the son of the late E. Ray and Margie Hamilton Palmer. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Dr. Carroll W. Palmer.
Lloyd was a 1950 graduate of Seaman High School, an Army Veteran, lifelong dairy and tobacco farmer, a 50 year member of the Winchester F. & A. M. #236 and a dual member of the Hillsboro F. & A.M. #38, a member of the Manchester Nathaniel Massie O.E.S. #548, and was a member of Scioto Milk Producers where he was a Director and President for many years.
He survived by his wife, of 58 years, Janet Hughes Palmer of Hillsboro, son Timothy Paige Palmer of Hillsboro, sister Donna Bel Bate of Hillsboro, grandson Bryce Jennifer Palmer of Peebles, two great grandchildren Keatyn and Jax Palmer, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday September 4, 2013 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Tranquility Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00P.M on Tuesday September 3, 2013 at the Thompson Funeral Home with Masonic Services at 8:00 P.M.
