Lloyd R. "Ron" Turpin, 80 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Wednesday March 26, 2014 at his residence.
He was born in Cincinnati on January 11, 1934, the son of the late Lloyd and Thelma Price Turpin.
Ron was a 66 year member of the Allensburg Church of Christ, a member of the Hillsboro Chapter #441 O.E.S., Highland Lodge #38 F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati where he received the meritorious Service Award, Kentucky Colonel, retired Sgt. from Ohio State Patrol, and a member of Highland Co. Sr. Citizens; his hobbies were woodworking, blacksmithing, wood carving, knives & gun maker and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Turpin of Hillsboro, sons Randy Barbara Turpin of Procterville, OH and Allen Anne Turpin of Dublin, OH, daughter Rhonda Cliff Weaver of Fayetteville, OH, step-daughters Loralee Powell of Burlington, KY and Lynne Powell of Granville, OH, brother Russell Jackie Instine of Henderson, TX and eight grandchildren, Anthony, Jeremy & Rachel Gauche, Nathan, Allie, Annalise, Alexis Turpin and Jordan Latham.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday March 31, 2014 at the Allensburg Church of Christ with Bob Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Hillsboro Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. on Sunday March 30, 2014 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro; with Eastern Star, Masonic and Scottish Rite services to follow.
