Louis Alan Lamb, 85, of Hillsboro, OH, died on Tuesday, January 23, 2007, at the Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville, IN.

Born August 21, 1921, in Centerville, OH, son of the late Lemuel H. and Lena Noggle Lamb, Louis was the second of three sons.

He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and General Motors Institute, Flint, MI, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Iota, an honorary engineering society. A life-long lover of sports, Hillsboro High School inducted Mr. Lamb into the initial class of its Athletic Hall of Fame for his high school accomplishments.

Mr. Lamb saw military service as an Army medic in Europe during World War II. After the war, he returned to General Motors where he rose to an executive position.

Following assignments in Dayton, Buffalo, Flint, Detroit, Indianapolis and Europe, Mr. Lamb retired in 1983, with more than forty-two years of service with General Motors. He has resided in Hillsboro ever since.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Catharine Elliott Lamb and his second wife Barbara Leslie Tucker Lamb and is survived by daughters Mrs. Gerald Susan Leassner of Cincinnati, OH, and Mrs. William Corky Crimmins of Greencastle, IN; sons, Bruce Elliott Lamb of Hillsboro and Jonathan Hill Lamb of Atlanta, GA; a stepdaughter Jane Tucker Radley of New York and a stepson James Clarence Tucker of Wilmington, OH; and a brother Bruce L. Lamb of Waynesville, OH; and ten grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hillsboro with Father Mike Paraniuk officiating. Burial will follow in the Miami Cemetery at Waynesville, Ohio, with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
