Cora Lucille Reed died peacefully with Hospice and her family by her side at The Laurels of Hillsboro on Wednesday June 17, 2015. For the past five years, the Laurel staff has given her efficient and loving care.
Born in Highland County on September 7, 1918 to Jimmy Joe and Lula (Beekman) Miller.
Lucille is survived by her children, Eleanor (David) Tolle, Jim (Davene) and Nina (Jim) Couser, a daughter-in-law, Norma Reed, a brother Junior Miller, sisters-in-law, Marjorie Reed and Armetha Reed of Tennessee. Her grandchildren; Mitzi (Dick) Reed, Joni (Mike) Willer, Terri (Mike) Matheney, Mike (Sue) Reed, Billy (Chris) Reed, Terence (Jill) Reed, Spencer Reed and Tom Couser, step granddaughters, Cherri (Robert) Hall and Julie (Gary) Walker. 18 great grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren, 9 step great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Albert Reed, who she married on August 20, 1936, a son Floyd Reed, a son-in-law. Gaylord Tong, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy (Russell) Helterbrand, Helen (Lester) Robson, Irene (Miller) Reed and Marjorie White, her brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank (Mary) Miller, Kenneth (Martha) Miller, brothers-in-law, Calvin Reed, Rev. John T. Reed, sisters-in-law, Louise Miller and Nina Reed, nephews, Dennis Robson and Paul Miller and a niece, Alexia Jones.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday June 21, 2015 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. David Hopkins officiating.
Friends may call from 12:00 P.M. until time of service on Sunday at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
