Lucy Jane Fender, 89 years of Lynchburg, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023.
She was born in Irvine, Kentucky on September 22, 1934, daughter of the late Daniel Henry and Inis Ellen (Roe) Tipton.
Lucy was married to the late John Fredrick "Fred" Fender on October 08, 1955 and shared 56 years together until his passing on February 17, 2012.
Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded by 5 sisters; Virginia, Bertha, Rebecca, Maudie, Mary; 6 brothers, Strauter, Charles, Samuel, Walter, Robert and James.
Lucy was a long time member of the Gospel Baptist Church in Cincinnati as well as a member of the Union Cemetery Board and retired from US Playing Cards after 33 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Faye (Doug) Heyne, Sr. of Mt. Orab; grandson, Doug (Amanda) Heyne, Jr. of Lynchburg; great grandaughter, Lexi Nicole Heyne; 5 sisters, Nannie Mason of Lexington, KY, Martha Stapleton of Mansfield, Louise Arvin of Irvine, KY, Maggie Hafley of Carter City, KY, and Helen Boling of Mansfield.
Services are being held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the convenience of the family.
