Mabel Hayes, 87 years of Peebles, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at Eagle Creek Nursing Center.
She was born in Fleming County, Kentucky on April 21, 1922 the daughter of the late Harvey and Ella Mae Helphenstine Boyd.
Mabel was a member of the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union and an honorable member of the Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband; Denver Wilson Williams, second husband; Earl Waldren, third husband; Floyd Hayes, son; Charles T. "Bud" Williams, daughters; Barbara Ann Hughes and Selma Karen Tolliver, step mother; Mallie Fultz Boyd, brothers; Charles "Charlie" and Simon "Bucky" Boyd, sons-in-law; Jerry Eugene Dunn and James Hughes, and great grandson; Bradley Eugene Dunn.
She is survived by one daughter; Peggy Dunn of Peebles, one daughter-in-law; Goldie Williams of Berea, Kentucky, one son-in-law; David Tolliver of Otway, one brother; Jack Boyd of Mansfield, Ohio, five sisters; Alma Lawhorn, Martha Miller, Nellie Strubhar, Ruby Ball, and Dorothy Boyd all of Mansfield, Ohio, twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union with Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in U.P. Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union. Wallace-Thompson Funeral Homes in Peebles is in charge of the arrangements.
