Margaret Ruth Smittle

Margaret Ruth Smittle, 83 years of Peebles, died Wednesday, November 2, 2005 at the Meadow View Regional Hospital.
She was born on April 17, 1922 in Scott Township, Adams County the daughter of the late John and Alice Williams Cornelius. She was a member of the Countryside Church of Christ, She had taught School for many years in the Franklin School System and the Ohio Valley School System, member of the Adams County Retired Teachers Association, Ohio State Retired Teachers Association, and Seaman American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband Dale Smittle whom she married on July 15, 1943, two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ruth and Larry Bennington of Peebles, Jo and Wayne Hanson of Peebles, four grandchildren, Larry Dale Bennington, Dawn Renee Countryman, Jamie Dion Bennington, and Rebecca Nicole. Eight great grandchildren Miranda Countryman, Andrew Countryman, Zachary Bennington, Caleb Bennington, Faith Journey Bennington, Silas Bennington, Jack Roades, Baby Roades, and 3 step grandchildren, and 7 step great grandchildren. One brother Jim Cornelius of Lake Jackson, Texas, and one sister Anna Shupert of Seaman. Two special friends George McCoy and Dr. John Shupert.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday November 5, 2005 under the direction of the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home at the Countryside Church of Christ near Seaman with Hannum Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Tranquility Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. till service time at 1:00 P.M. at the church.
