Margene K. Hoop, 85 years of the Sinking Spring Community, died Sunday, April 18, 2004 at the Highland District Hospital.
She was born in Highland County, Ohio on April 17, 1919 the daughter of the late Fred E. and Minnie Faye Kelley Hill.
She was a member of the Sinking Spring United Methodist Church.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille VanPelt.
She was united in marriage on November 5, 1938 to Irvin Hoop, who survives. Also surviving is her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Patty Hoop of Sinking Spring, daughters and sons-in-law, Vivian and Les Garman of Hillsboro, Debbie and Richard VanZant of Hillsboro, sister, Nina Jones of Hillsboro, seven grandchildren, Melissa Kevin Larson, Nick Paula Garman, Mindy Tim Roades, Kelly Rich Parry, Bruce Hoop, Whitney VanZant, and Ben VanZant, eight great grandchildren, Mason and Morgan Garman, Emmit and Aaron Roades, Madelyn and Abby Larson, Taylor Hoop, and Remi Parry, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the Sinking Spring United Methodist Church with Greg Seaman and Dwight Crum officiating. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring; the body will lie in state Thursday at the Sinking Spring United Methodist Church from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at 2:00 P.M.
