Marie Bowens, age 95 of Peebles, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at her residence.
She was born in Weeksburg, Kentucky on May 2, 1919 the daughter of the late John and Annie Lambert Collins. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bowens, who passed away in 1968.
Marie attended Locust Grove Wesleyan Tabernacle Church .
She is survived by six sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Faye Bowens, Robert Bowens, Benny and Norma Bowens, Luther Bowen, James and Tonja Bowen, Burton Bowens; five daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Chris Bartley, Peggy and Howard Shields, Brenda Morgan, Pat Shields, and Sharon Bowens;
60 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the Locust Grove Wesleyan Tabernacle with Richard Williams officiating.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 12:00 till 2:00 P.M. at the church.
Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles is in charge of the arrangements.
