Marie Lawhorn

October 18, 1910 — August 3, 2003

Marie Lawhorn, 92 years of Peebles, died Sunday, August 3, 2003 at the Highland District Hospital.

She was born in Pike County on October 18, 1910 the daughter of Ed and Fannie Hunt Eakins.

She was a charter member of the Grace Brethren Church in Sinking Spring.

Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Lawhorn on July 17, 1959, on son Robert Lawhorn, granddaughter, Johnna Lawhorn, four brothers, Charlie Eakins, Bill Eakins, Sant Eakins, Creighton Eakins and one sister Blanche Shanks.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John and Donita Lawhorn of Peebles,

One daughter-in-law, Willa Jean Lawhorn of Peebles, five grandchildren, Rodney Lawhorn, Randy Lawhorn, Luke Lawhorn, Duke Lawhorn, Marketta Lawhorn, eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grace Brethren Church in Sinking Spring with Bruce McDowell and Dale Scott officiating.

Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring and from 12:00 noon till service time on Wednesday at the Grace Brethren Church.
