Marie E. Roessner Schmidt, 98 years of West Union, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2002.
She was born in Mercer County, Ohio on August 17, 1903 the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Roessner.
Marie was a graduate of the Lima Business College at Lima, Ohio where she was proficient in bookkeeping, shorthand and the German language. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Fett & Kimmel Mfg. Company in Bluffton, Ohio.
She was united in marriage to Louis G. Schmidt on May 17, 1927 who preceded her in death on June 6, 1987.
She is survived by her sons and daughters/law,
L. Joseph and Marge Schmidt of Anna, Ohio, Daniel and Jean Schmidt of Hamilton, Ohio Raymond and Eunice Schmidt of Mineral Wells, Texas, Rev. Leslie Schmidt of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, Bemmett amd Betty Schmidt of Mendon, Ohio, Evan and Janace Schmidt of Geneva, Indiana, daughters and sons/law, Julienne and Carl Rehmert of Maria Stein, Ohio Rosalyn and Joseph Darby of West Union, Ohio, Margaret and Ivo Rammel of West Union, Ohio, Karen and Walter Steinbrunner Jr. of Ft. Recovery, Ohio, Mary Thomas of Cincinnati, Ohio, Arlen and Michael Weaver of Cincinnati, Ohio, sister, Stella Rosenbeck of Dayton, Ohio, 52 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren and 18 great great
grandchildren.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 25, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. at the St. Marys Queen of Heaven Church in Peebles with Internment at Les Schmidt Memorial Park Cemetery on the family homestead off Vaughn Ridge Road, West Union, Ohio.
Friends may call on Sunday evening from 2:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral in Peebles.
