Marie Shoemaker, 95 years of Peebles, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Hillcrest Nursing Home.
She was born on November 26, 1915 the daughter of the late Milby and Esta Bailey Barnes.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Chester Shoemaker, who passed away on September 19, 1999, four brothers, and one sister.
Marie attended the Sulpher Springs Baptist Church in Peebles.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law; Billie Shoemaker of Mt. Orab, Donnie and Nina Shoemaker of West Union, four daughters and sons-in-law; Nina and Ernie Bay of Fayetteville, Jean and Ira Savage of Jamestown, Ohio, Patsy and David Cooper of Seaman, Etta Mae and Charles Lee of Mt. Orab, two sisters; Flossie Ralston of Peebles and Emma Hodson of Massachusetts, thirty three grandchildren, forty nine great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Wayne Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
