Marion E. Hartman, 73 years, of Hillsboro, died Sunday, May 18, 2003 at his residence.
He was born at Eaton, Ohio on November 15, 1929 , the son of the late Elmer and Nellie Kees Hartman.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Hartman.
He was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church. Lifetime farmer, served as President of the Ohio Corn Growers, Chairman of Ohio Corn Marketing Program, Director and Vice President, Research of National Corn Growers, President and Chairman of the Board of National Corn Development Foundation, Federal Grain Inspection Service Committee.
Received the Ohio Corn Growers Association Distinguished Service Award and the Ohio Farm Bureau Distinguished Service to Agriculture Award.
On June 2, 1951 he was united in marriage to Helen Morris Hartman who survives. He is also survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Anne and Steve Schnebly of Scranton, Iowa, Emily Janie and Bob Peinsipp of Lombard, Illinois, Sarah Hartman of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, Amy Hartman of Indianapolis, Indiana, four grandchildren, Shawn Hamilton of Montgomery, Minnesota, Andrew Schnebly, Susan Peinsipp and Ben Peinsipp, sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Bill Duncanson of Troy, Ohio.
Funeral Services will be held at the Convenience of the Family at the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church. Rev. John K. Petrie will officiate with burial to follow in the High Top Cemetery. No visitation will be observed.
