Marion L. Buck Ruble, 92 years of Winchester, died Friday, September 21, 2007.
He was born January 1, 1917 in Adams County, Ohio, the son of the late Kelly and Hazel Lillian Horner Ruble. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Kathlyne Stevens, June Kratzer, Margaret Tucker and Wilma Jane Weller.
Buck was a lifelong farmer, member of the Winchester United Methodist Church, served his country during W.W. II in the U.S. Army, POW being captured in the Battle of the Bulge, lifetime member of the VFW, member of the American Legion Post #242 Winchester.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Leota Foster Ruble; two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Barbara Ruble of Lewisburg, OH., and Rex and Cheryl Ruble of Winchester, OH.; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Kenneth Roades of Hillsboro, OH.; seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the Winchester United Methodist Church. The Rev. John Waugh will officiate with burial to follow at the Winchester Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday at the Bradford-Sullivan Funeral Home in Winchester.
