Martha J. Shoemaker, 94 years of Hillsboro, died Saturday, September 1, 2001 at Heartland of Hillsboro,
She was born at Johnson County, KY., on December 23, 1906 the daughter Of John and Cora Justice Dixon.
She attended the Pisgah United Methodist Church, Member of the Ladies Aid of Pisgah United Methodist Church and was baptize in Johnson County
Baptist Church in KY. ?She was a Loving Wife and Mother.?
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Lawrence Shoemaker on December 3, 1974, one son Lawrence Raymond Shoemaker in 1995, One step granddaughter, Connie Shockley, one brother Thurman Dixon, and two sisters. Lexie Slone and Rosa Daniels.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Ralph and Pauline Shoemaker of Hillsboro, one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Martha and Albert Davies of Hillsboro, one daughter-in-law, Maggie Shoemaker of Mt. Sterling, one granddaughter Cheryl Michael Rhoades Shoemaker,
Four step grandchildren John, Carmen, Mark and Chris Stockley all of Mt. Sterling, one brother, Herman Dixon of Columbus, one sister, Bertha Ross of Columbus, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at 10:00 A.M. At the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Janie Shoemaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday evening from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
