Mary Catherine (Kate) Barney gained her angel wings on September 9, 2018. She was born on January 17, 1931 on a farm near Hillsboro, Ohio. She graduated from Belfast High School and was a lifetime member of Mt. Washington Church of Christ.
Mary loved and was loved by her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Arthur & Laura Barney, her siblings: Mae (Bill) Daulton, John (Carmella) Barney and Dora (Dick) Matthai, and her nephews: Harold Daulton, Raymond Daulton & Ronald Barney.
She is survived by William (Beverly) Daulton, Joyce Daulton, George (Becky) Daulton, Linda (Jim) Myers, Danny (Rita) Daulton, John Daulton, Rick (Gail) Daulton, Sheryl (Dan) Stanley, Doug (Debbie) Matthai, Jennie Kreeger, Debbie Osbourne, Rosie Barney and 25 great nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM September 13, 2018 at Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, OH. Burial will follow in the Barnes Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gunderman for many years of caring, the staff at The Laurels of Hillsboro who cared for her for the past 9 years and Community Care Hospice who eased her final days on earth.
Donations can be made to the Highland County Animal Shelter or to the Community Care Hospice.
