Mary June Carter, 77 years of Lucasville, formerly of Sinking Spring, OH., died Saturday, April 8, 2006 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH.
She was born June 14, 1928 in Pike County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Perley C. and Hazel Marie Johnson LeVan. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Carter on December 2, 1978, two stillborn sons, four grandsons, Michael Shuster, Timmothy Hughes, Danny Brumfield and Jeremy Madden, one sister, Blanche Fout, one brother, Emerson Thompson.
She is survived by three sons, Ernest Carter of Cincinnati, Russell Carter and Robert Carter of Piketon, OH.; eight daughters, Linda Reynolds of Florida, Nancy Shuster of Marion, OH., Marie Lansing of Latham, OH., Delpha Hammonds of Portsmouth, OH., Mary Brumfield of Morral, OH., Thelma Malone of The Lakes, OH., Violet Swain of Lucasville, OH., Margaret Madden of Latham, OH.; three sisters, Viola Fisher, Dolly Arnold and Sandra Stanley; four brothers, Forrest, Arthur, Howard and George LeVan.; 27 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring, Ohio. Bubby Stevens will officiate with burial following in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Tuesday at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
