Mary Jean Cowgill, 76 years of Columbus, died Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at the Lutheran Village of Columbus.
She was born in Highland County near Hillsboro on her parents farm, where the present day Fall Creek Friends Church is located, on May 5, 1926 the daughter of the late Parker and Olive West Cowgill.
She was a 1944 graduate of Greenfield High School. She worked for thirty-five years with the Ohio Hardware Association. During her fifty-nine years in Columbus, she was active in the community church where she lived in Upper Arlington. Mary Jean enjoyed attending theatrical performances and musical concerts as well as travel with friends and family.
She is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Ruth Cowgill of Hillsboro, Jack and Nancy Cowgill of Hillsboro, Paul and Millie Cowgill of Naples, Florida and Anchorage, Alaska, and many nieces and nephews from Hillsboro, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and DeWitt, Michigan.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2003 at 2:30 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday from 1:00 till 2:30 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
