Mary J. Dawson was born on July 11, 1955, in Dayton, OH, to a bright and hopeful world. As she peacefully passed away on April 1, 2024, in Hillsboro, OH. Her departure left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew her. Mary was a loving and devoted wife to Bill Dawson, for 50 years, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Mary is preceded, in death, by her parents, Ledford and Mildred (Brockman) Forbes.
Besides her husband, Mary is survived by her sons, David Dawson of Hillsboro and Greg (Sheila) Dawson of Martinsville, five grandchildren, Daniel, Robert, Cyrus, Tiffany and Gabriel, brother, Steven Forbes of Dayton, mother-in-law, Carol Dawson of Bellbrook, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Denver (Sandy) Dawson of Indiana, Donald Dawson of Centerville, Bryan Dawson of Louisville, KY and Rodney Player of Centerville.
Throughout her life, Mary found joy in the simple pleasures, cherishing her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren, crafting, sewing, and attending church. Her love for animals shone brightly in the compassionate way she cared for them.
Her warmth and kindness touched all those around her, leaving a lasting impact that will be remembered with fondness. Mary's legacy of love and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Funeral services, to honor Mary, will be at the convenience of the family.
