Mary Catherine Hopkins, 91 years of the Sinking Spring Community, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at the Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
She was born in Adams County, Ohio on October 8, 1916 the daughter of the late Spencer and Ella West Gustin.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Hopkins, who passed away on May 31, 1993, one son, Cecil Hopkins, Jr., one daughter, Esther Hopkins, one granddaughter, Tammy Michelle Hopkins, two great grandchildren, Fawn and Jared Turner, four brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by six daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Heber Williamson of Sinking Spring, Betty and David Wise of Hillsboro, Verda Bosier of Hillsboro, Mary and Earl Mahaffey of Hillsboro, Susan and Dallas Ison of Bainbridge, Trudy and Jim Hodge of Rainsboro, one sister-in-law, Joann Hopkins of Hillsboro, one brother-in-law, George Hopkins of Hillsboro, twenty-two grandchildren, fifty-three great grandchildren, nineteen great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home in Sinking Spring with Greg Seaman and Danny Swank officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wylie-Thompson Funeral Home.
