Mary J. Newman, 82 years of Peebles, died Monday August 18, 2003 at her residence.
She was born at Climton County on July 1, 1921 the daughter of the late Calvin and Laura Ivers Gilpin.
She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Newman on October 14, 1991.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law Linda and Michael Johnson of Las Vegas, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sister, Libby Cross of Peebles, Georgianna Kinnison of Peebles, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Peebles Church of God with Ron Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call on Wednesday evening fron 6:00 til 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
