Mary Ann Peterson, 69 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Monday April 25, 2016.

She was born in Hillsboro on August 4, 1946, the daughter of the late William Edward and Margaret C. (Overman) Gorman. Besides her parents she was also preceded by her husband John D. Peterson on July 26, 2001.

Mary worked for the Hillsboro City Schools, was a member of the Mt. Washington Church of Christ and enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking and spending time with her family.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Douglas Edward (Fiancée Donna Chamblin) Peterson of Hillsboro and John Alan (Fiancée Shelly Corrigan) Peterson of Hillsboro, daughter, Cathy Ione (Fiancé Richard Ketron) Workman of Decatur, IN brother, James (Linda) Gorman of Hillsboro three sisters, Malinda Jane O'Cull of Hillsboro Sharon Kay (Ron) Lamb of New Vienna and Donna Sue Gorman of Hillsboro, ten grandchildren: James Tiler, Chad, Joshua, Ciara, R.J., Jonathon, Cody, Savannah, Abigail and Summer and five great grandchildren, Reannah, Kaden, Logan, Jace and Laynee.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday April 30, 2016 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dunn's Chapel Cemetery.

Friend's may call at 11:00 AM until times of services of on Saturday at the Thompson Funeral Home.

Donations can be made to the Highland County Society for Children and Adults or to Hills & Dales.
