Mary Jo Post, 84 years of Hillsboro, died Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Crestwood Nursing Center in Hillsboro.
She was born in Leesburg, Ohio on July 17, 1922 the daughter of the late Marcus and Clara Jackson Slaughter.
She was a member of the Berrysville Holiness Church, President of Patients Rights Association, the Red Hat Society, and graduate of Leesburg High School.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Post, who passed away on January 9, 1999, two brothers, Charles and John Slaughter, and one sister, Lois Nelle Slaughter.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Mary Post of Hillsboro, daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Bill Swank of Haines City, Florida, Hazel and Frank Edwards of Sunbury, Ohio, sister-in-law, Emma Slaughter, granddaughters, Ashley Charles Shreve, Callie C. Nathanial Hughes Post, great grandchildren, Patrick and David Shreve, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 2, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Curtis Randolph officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2:00 till 4:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Highland District Hospital, 1275 N. High Street, Hillsboro, OH 45133.
