Mary Edith Ryan

Edith Ryan, 88 years of Peebles, Ohio, died Thursday, September 29, 2005 at the Adams County Hospital in West Union, Ohio.
She was born June 16, 1917 at Bainbridge, Ohio, the daughter of the late William Jefferson and Nellie Lytle Smalley. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by one son Winson Ryan, one brother Richard Smalley, three sisters, Mildred Cobler, Alberta Johnson and Ann Foster.
Edith was a member of the Peebles Missionary Evangelical Church of Christ, Peebles Lioness Club and the Peebles Magazine Club.
On July 27, 1937 she was united in marriage to Mark Ryan who survives.She is also survived by one son, Bill Ryan of Peebles; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Bob Malcom of Peebles, Becky and Frank Hedges of Hillsboro; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; four brothers, Kenneth Smalley of Peebles, Forest Smalley of Peebles, Paul Smalley of Waldorf, Maryland, Henry Smalley of Charleston, S.C., one sister, Gwen Brownlee of Seaman.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 3, 2005 at the Peebles Missionary Evangelical Church of Christ, 206 Rarden Road, Peebles, Ohio. Tom Tolle and Bill Ryan will officiate. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
