Mary Thompson, 76 years of Hillsboro, passed away Monday June 17, 2013 at the Bethesda North Hospital.

She was born in Highland County, Ohio on August 30, 1936, the daughter of the late Andrew J. and Alma Conley Newman. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, William Newman, Joe Newman, Pau "Bud" Newman, Russell "Dick" Newman, six sisters, Dora Warnock, Jan Newman, Lillie Shrout, Beatrice Bryant, Pearlie Newsome, and Hester Pennington.

She retired from Airborne and was a memeber of the Morgan Fork United Baptist Church in Pike County, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Forest Thompson, two sons and daughters in law, Faron and Nancy Thompson of Sardinia, Jerry and Lynette Thompson of Hillsboro, three brothers and sisters in law, Estill and Ruth Ann Newman of Dayton, Leroy and Rosemary Newman of Dayton, Robert and Margaret Newman of Missouri, one sister and brother in law, Shirley and Richard Rhoads of Greenfield; four grandchildren, Adam Clara Young, Patrick Megan Thompson, Heather Thompson, Amber. Thompson; five great grandchildren, Hailey Young, Aidan Young, Dylan Young, Myah Pitts, Jacob Wayne Thompson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday June 20, 2013 at the Thompson Funeral Home with Paul Blanton & Arvil Murray Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the New Market Cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Morgan Fork United Baptist Church.
