Maunia L. Hare, 96 years of Portsmouth, died Sunday, September 24, 2006 at the Hill View Retirement Center in Portsmouth.
She was born in Adams County, Ohio on May 8, 1910 the daughter of the late Lester and Grace Foster Jandes.
She was a member of the Seaman United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post #633, and the Manchester Order of Eastern Star Nathaniel Massie #548.
She was united in marriage on July 5, 1930 to Edgar Hare, who passed away on October 24, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Grace Jandes, one brother, Therian Jandes, two sisters, LaWanda Fenton and Alice Wallace, and two nephews, James Jandes and Todd Curliss.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Nedra Jandes of Hillsboro, special niece, Marlene Don Curliss of Cincinnati, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lewis-Sullivan Funeral Home in Seaman with Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Leigh Cemetery.
Friends may call on Thursday from 12:00 till 2:00 P.M. at the Lewis-Sullivan Funeral Home.
