Maurice Thatcher

Maurice Thatcher, 85 years of Seaman, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011 at his residence.
He was born in Adams County, Ohio on November 22, 1925 the youngest son of the late Joseph and Anna Malone Thatcher.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Anna Ruth Thatcher, who passed away in 1990, three brothers, and three sisters.
Maurice was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II in which he was a Prisoner of War in Germany. He was also a member of the Seaman American Legion #633 and Scioto County Dairy Association.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Stephen and Carol Thatcher and Jeffrey and Christina Thatcher all of Seaman, four daughters and sons-in-law; Karen and David Waits of Lynchburg, Joyce & DeLloyd Brown of Seaman, Jennifer and Michael Fischer of Batavia, and Cathy and Steve Calvert of Seaman, two brothers; Truman Thatcher of Cincinnati and Francis Thatcher of New Mexico, 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman with Chris Gobin officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery. Military Rites will be given by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, Lewis-Sullivan Chapel in Seaman.
Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
