Melva B. Leslie, 93 years of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, October 17, 2001 at the
Crestwood Nursing Center in Hillsboro.
She was born in Highland, Ohio on December 7, 1907 the daughter of the late George E. and Elsie Alberta Lawrence Jones.
She was a member of the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church. She graduated on September 2, 1944 from the Good Samaritan School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse in Miami, Florida and as a surgical assistant in Springfield, Ohio.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Bernard Leslie, who passed away on July 17, 1989, one brother, Orville Jones, and one sister, Mildred Reed.
She is survived by her stepson, William A. Bill and wife, Carole Leslie of Greenville, Wisconsin, stepdaughter, Nancy L. Devolld of Dayton, ten grandchildren, Michael Gail Leslie of Marshall, Wisconsin, Janine Frank Melchion of Appleton, Wisconsin, Brian Leslie of Appleton, Wisconsin, Schellee Leslie of Madison, Wisconsin, David Judy Devolld of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Diane Rick Bamfield of Cambridge, Ohio, Debbie Bart Marshall of Stow, Ohio, Denise Donaldson of Dayton, Ohio, Michael Leslie of Colorado Springs, Tony Anita Leslie of Denver, Colorado, seventeen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sister, Margaret Jones of Springfield, Ohio, niece, Alberta Robert Rapp, nephew, Harold Penn of Hillsboro, Ohio, and special friends, Marty Carroll Lynch of Phoenix, Arizona, Alice Carroll Lowd of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Patricia Riker Jordan of New York, New York.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Maurice Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
