Melva Skidmore, 87 years of Peebles, passed away Friday, March 22, 2013 at Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley Inpatient Center.
She was born in Peebles, Ohio on August 21, 1925 the daughter of the late Sam and Ruth Boyd Hemmings.
Melva attended Peebles Church of Christ and she was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Lodge #581.
She is survived by her husband, Herman Skidmore of Peebles, whom she married on March 24, 1953, two sons and daughter-in-law; Ron and Janet Skidmore of Morehead, Kentucky and Sam Skidmore of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, one brother; Gary Hemmings of Denver, Colorado, two grandchildren; Brianne and Kinsey, 7 great grandchildren, special niece; Joanne Hemmings of West Union, and one step granddaughter; Jan.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Bill Christman officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles.
