Melvin Carroll Miller, 85 years of Hillsboro, died Monday, May 18, 2015 at Ohio State University Medical Center.
He was born at Columbus, OH on December 26, 1929, the son of the late Chester A. and Pearl M. (Carson) Miller. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary C. Miller, one grandchild Christopher Dillon, four brothers, William, Arthur, Clyde and Ross Miller., two sisters, Marjorie Upton and Dorothy Jones.
Melvin attended the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church. He was an electrician and a member of the I.B.G.W. Local 683 Columbus, OH. He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by two step sons, John L. Haner of Columbus, Fred (Linda) Romine of Virginia, one step daughter, Betsy Irene (Jerry) Dillon of Colorado. 9 grandchildren, Angela Hanes Eads, Shane haner, Katherine Haner Worch, Jessica Haner Lee, Kimberly Dillon Shiplett, Nicole Dillon, Michelle Romine Barrett, Nathen Romine, Selena Romine, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Evans Funeral Home, 4171 East Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH.
Burial will follow in Glen Rest Memorial Estate at Reynoldsburg.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 4:00 till 7:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro and on Friday from 11:00 AM till time of service at 1:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home. Military Rites will be held on Thursday at 7:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home by the Highland County Honor Guard.
