Merle H. Beekman, 90 years of Hillsboro, died Thursday, June 29, 2006 at the Highland District Hospital ER.
He was born in Pike County, Ohio on September 20, 1915 the son of the late Ora and Bessie Satterfield Beekman.
He was a Army Veteran serving in WWII, Member of the V.F.W. Post #9094 of Hillsboro, Local 18, Ohio Operating Engineers.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his 1st wife Lula Beekman in 1975, two brothers and two sisters, one step son Raymond Ratcliffe.
He is survived by his 2nd wife Betty Price Beekman of Hillsboro, one daughter and son in law Lola Ann and Butch Gracy of Miamisburg, two step sons, Chris Marcaurelle of Hillsboro, Stephen Marcaurelle of Poteau, Oklahoma, one step daughter, Mary Ratcliffe of Connecticut, one brother, Chester E. Beekman of Waverly, one sister Betty Lambert of Bainbridge, seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 3, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Elmo Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardner Cemetery in Pike County with Military Graveside services by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Sunday after noon from 2:00 P.M. till 4 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
