Mernita "Pat" Young, 90 years of North Chesterfield, VA, passed away on Thursday October 16, 2014 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband John O. Young Jr. on June 17, 2009.
Pat was born and raised in Marshall, OH and John in Cedar Mills, OH. They were married 66 ½ years at the time of Johns passing.
Pat and John were members of Etowah United Methodist Church in Etowah, N.C.; Pat was past Matron of Winchester Chapter No. 188, Order of the Eastern Star and served as District President for O.E.S. John served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in England and France during WWII. He was a life-long member of the United Methodist Men, Scottish Right and Mason's where he was a member of the Masonic Lodge #236 of Winchester, OH.
Pat and John are both survived by their children, Patricia (Jim) Martin of Dayton, OH, J. Robert (Terry) Young of Midlothian, VA and H. Leon Young of North Chesterfield, VA. John and Pat have 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday November 5, 2014 at the Thompson Funeral Home in memory of Pat and John. Friends may come at 2:00 P.M. until time of service on Wednesday.
