Mildred G. Hastings, 90 years of the Berrysville Community, died Monday, September 3, 2007 at The Laurels of Hillsboro.
Mildred was born March 19, 1917 in Adams County, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Stella Davis Bryant. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Glenn L. Hastings on August 2, 1983; seven sisters, Minnie Lyle, Elizabeth West, Doris Peterson, Edna Williamson, Wahnita Miller, Pauline Cornelius, Lavonne Moore; three brothers, Ernest Bryant, William Bryant, Donovan Bryant; one foster daughter, Jody Reffitt.
Mildred was a faithful servant to God, family, church and her community, especially with her wonderful pies and sweet rolls. She was a farmers wife and worked for a short period of time at the Hillsboro Dry Goods Store and Wards Greenhouse. She leaves a wonderful loving legacy with everyone she came into contact and will be missed greatly by her family.
Mildred was a member of the Prospect United Methodist Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher, Prospect WSCS, Fellowship For One, WCTU, 4H Leader, Silver Squares Square Dance.
Mildred is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Richard Michael of Hillsboro, Glenna and Gary Leeth of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Tonya Michael Scott, Kelli Brian Williamson, Kimberly Eric Lang, Scott Rhonda Michael, Shannon Leeth, Brandon Jocelyn Leeth; six foster grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren, Tyler, Madison & Rileigh Lang, Alec, Aaron, Andrew and Adam Scott, Mackenzie and Jordan Williamson, Gracie and Cole Michael, Reagan Leeth; seven foster great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren, Meagan Hart and Jordan Prickett; three brothers-in-law, Herbert Peterson, William Cornelius, Donald Moore; two sisters-in-law, Edith Bryant, Glenna Bryant; special nephew and niece, Richard Dick Miller and Julia Orebaugh; host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 5:00 P.M., Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Pastor Ken Woleab will officiate with burial to follow in the Prospect Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
