Mildred Opal Purdom

Mildred Opal Purdom, 88 years of Hillsboro, passed away on Wednesday August 3, 2016 at the Crestwood Nursing Center.

She was born in Morehead, KY on January 12, 1928, the daughter of the late Estel and Mae (Amburgy) Pollard. Besides her parents she was also preceded by her husband, Emery B. "Slim" Purdom on July 5, 1997, six brothers, Ezra, Harley, Marvin, Woody, Emmett and Hurbert; sister, Shirley Fryman, daughter, Geneva Slusher, grandson, Freddie Waddell, granddaughter, Tina Shively, great grandson, Luke Fugett, and great granddaughter, Destiny Mummert.

Mildred attended the Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church.

Mildred is survived by her four sons, Kenny (Bev) Purdom of Hillsboro, Jerry (Cori) Purdom of New Vienna, Ronnie (Jo) Purdom of Leesburg and Daryl Purdom of Hillsboro, five daughters, Debbie (Bill) Sellman of Hillsboro, Margie (Duane) Lind of Hillsboro, Judy (John) Thery of Hillsboro, Sandy Waddell of Hillsboro and Peggy Purdom & Jim Howland of Hillsboro, brother, David Pollard of Washington Court House, two sisters, Roberta (Frank) Allen of Hillsboro and Mary Love of Louisiana, 18 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, Carson Sellman.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday August 5, 2016 at the Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Hillsboro.
