Mildred Imogene Vanzant, 82 years of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the Salyer Adult Group Home in Hillsboro.
She was born in Adams County, Ohio on December 21, 1925 the daughter of the late John A. and Eva Grace Yankie Storer.
She was a member of the Hillsboro Church of Christ.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Lowell Storer.
She was united in marriage on August 28, 1948 to Donald Vanzant, who survives. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Debbie Vanzant of Hillsboro, daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Clifton Purvis of West Union, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Kathryn Storer of Peebles, Ronald and Linda Storer of Waverly, sister and brother-in-law, Mary Grace and John Robert Murphy of Seaman, sister-in-law, Ruth Storer of Peebles, four grandchildren, Whitney Chris Gobin of Winchester, Ben Vanzant of Hillsboro, Brian Lewis and friend, Betsy Taylor of Hillsboro, Ellen Purvis of Hillsboro, one great grandchild, Marley Gobin, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 6, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hillsboro Church of Christ with John Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the Prospect Cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
