Myrl Morris passed away on November 4, 2017 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Mr. Morris was a native of Virginia, who lived in Ohio for many years. For the past six years, he resided in Georgia. Mr. Morris's life was characterized by loyal service. He was a career employee of Chrysler Corporation in Dayton, Ohio, retiring in 1980 after thirty years of service. He proudly served his country in combat during World War II. He served as a PVT in the United States Army, Company A, 194th Gilder Infantry, serving from 1943-1945.He fought in the Rhineland Campaign & was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Battle Star. As was characteristic of Mr. Morris, he rarely spoke of his combat experience but his service and awards were the defining elements of his life. Mr. Morris is survived by two children, Emma Bockrath of Colorado and Fhonda Nagel of Georgia, four stepchildren, Shelia Browning, Karren Reid, Patricia Main, and Timothy Allen of Ohio, five grandchildren, Angela Cochran and David Bockrath of Arizona. Ethan Nagel and Gabriel Nagel of Georgia and Melissa Scott of Colorado. He had six great grandchildren, three surviving brothers, and two surviving sisters. Mr. Morris's great inner strength and resilience were exemplified by his attainment of the age of 93. His family and friends celebrate his life of service and the positive impact he had on everyone he met.
