Naomi Shoemaker Williams, 86 years of Hillsboro passed away on Thursday evening, June 2, 2022, at Highland District Hospital.
She was born in Highland County on March 28, 1936 to the late John R. and Hazel I. (Roberds) Shoemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Neil K. Williams on June 20, 1961; one brother, Roger Shoemaker and a nephew, Tony Shoemaker.
In November 1954, she married Neil Williams, who was a proud veteran of the Korean War.
Naomi worked at Star Bank and Merchants Bank in Hillsboro, and she was elected to 5 terms as the clerk for Marshall Township.
She enjoyed raising animals with her sons, and one of her greatest joys in life was going to the Highland County Fair and watching her children and grandchildren show livestock at the Junior Fair.
Naomi took several trips with the local Senior Citizens and enjoyed traveling to other parts of the country.
Naomi is survived by her two sons, Rick (Connie) Williams of Hillsboro, Jerry (Debbie) Williams of Hillsboro, ; five grandchildren: Melissa (Kelly) Martin of Jamestown, Brad (Brittany) Williams of Leesburg, Lauren Williams of Sabina, Michael (Bethany) Williams of Maysville, KY., Jennifer (Zach) Stout of Hillsboro; nine great grandchildren, Audra Downing, Savannah Martin, Ava Martin, Brailee Williams, Brynna Williams, Mackenzie Williams, Aubrey Williams, Colton Stout and Hunter Stout.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Jeff Lyle will officiate with burial to follow at the Marshall Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
