Nellie I. Phillips, age 93 of Winchester, passed away Monday, October 6, 2014 at Eagle Creek Nursing Center.
She was born in Mt. Gay, West Virginia, on July 26, 1921 the daughter of the late John and Garnet Collins Calderwood.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lamon Phillips who passed away on September 20, 2014 and two daughters, Garnett Montjano and Jo Ann Kidder.
She is survived by two sons, Arnold Phillips of Seaman and Lamon Phillips, Jr. of Tennessee; five daughters, Betty Phillips of Cherry Fork, Kathryn York of Tennessee, Patty Webb of Maryland, Shirley York of Tennessee, and Julene Nesbitt of Winchester; 29 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Tim McKinley officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9:00 till 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
