Norman Y. Clay, 76 years of Virginia Beach, Virginia, died Sunday, June 8, 2003 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

He was born in Peebles, Ohio on August 2, 1926 the son of the late Nathaniel and Pauline Davis Clay.

He attended Peebles High School and enlisted in the Army at 18 years of age. He served through World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam.

Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Kelly Clay, and one daughter, Vanessa Clay-Combs.

He is survived by one son, Tom Clay of Virginia Beach, Virginia, two daughters, Bonnie Pierce of Hillsboro, Melody Haines of Norfolk, Virginia, eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, brother, Bill Clay of Fort Wright, Kentucky, and sister, Jewell Reeder of Goshen.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
