Oleta I. Evans, 85 years of Troy, formerly of Rainsboro, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at the Pickaway Manor Care Center in Circleville.
She was born in Highland County, Ohio on November 1, 1920 the daughter of the late Clifton and Anna Steele Murphy.
She was a member of the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church. She retired from the Postal Service in Bainbridge.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Fay Evans, who passed away on January 15, 1991, two sisters, Lena Bancroft, Florence Wolfe, and four brothers, Harley, Everett, Glenn, and Robert Murphy.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Carole and Richard Pittenger of Troy, Ohio, Anita and Daniel Conkel of Amanda, Ohio, sister, Helen Mayfield of Cincinnati, four grandchildren, Stephen Martha Conkel, James Stephanie Conkel, Sarah Richard Schooley, Kimberly Michael Couch, and four great grandchildren, Elias and Abigail Conkel, and Caleb and Luke Conkel.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro, Ohio with Rev. Tom Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.
Friends may call on Friday from 10:00 till 11:00 A.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
