Opal Adkins

February 14, 1925 — August 5, 2003

Opal Adkins, 78 years of the Harriett Community, died Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati.

She was born in Paintsville, Kentucky on February 14, 1925 the daughter of the late Charles and Myrtle Smith King.

She was a member of the Hillsboro AMVETS.

She was united in marriage in July 1943 to Lenville D. Adkins, who preceded her in death in 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, Michael, one daughter, Janice, four sisters, and eight brothers.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Nancy Adkins, Gary and Connie Adkins, Larry and Francis Adkins, three daughters, Loretta and Gene Brown, Donna and Tom Smith, Connie Adkins, two sisters, Nori Jenkins, Wanda Wright, fifteen grandchildren, and twenty great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 8, 2003 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Rev. Charles Gorman officiating.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Hope Miller-Thompson Funeral Home.
