Oren H. Brooks, 77 years of Dayton, died Tuesday, September 11, 2001 at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He was born in West Union, Ohio on November 10, 1923 the son of the late George H. and Jessie Reed Brooks.
He was an Army Veteran of World War II.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Brooks, who passed away on December 30, 1994, two brothers, Sherman and James Brooks, two sisters, Margaret Preston and Ruby Campbell, and one granddaughter.
He is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Jim and Belle Hoop of Dayton, Randy Brooks of Dayton, daughter, Cathy Stall of Dayton, two brothers, George Brooks of West Union, Ronald Brooks of Jacktown, three sisters, Agnes Easter of West Union, Mary Bennette of Cedar Mills, Ohio, Thelma Ellison of Xenia, ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles with Rev. Vernon Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 till 9:00 P.M. at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home.
