Orville E. "Bucky" Newman, Jr., 76 years of Highland, OH., passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018.
Bucky was born January 18, 1942 at Greenfield, OH., the son of the late Orvalle E. And Tennie (Ball) Newman, Sr. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother and four sisters and brother-in-law, Becky and Bill Schubert, Ethel and Maurice Mann, Hazel and Ed Wisecup, Stella and Robert Graves.
Bucky was a member of the Highland Methodist Church and served his community for several terms as a Fairfield Township Trustee. Bucky drove a truck for several years, enjoyed his farm and a bus mechanic or Fairfield Schools for twenty years.
On January 22, 1967 he was united in marriage to Julia (Wright) Newman who survives. He is also survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Brian Newman of Kentucky, Keith and Stephanie Newman of Highland; three grandchildren, Justice, Chase and Silas Newman; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Shirley Newman of Hillsboro; one sister and brother-in-law, Daisy and Bud Sass of Wellston, OH.; several nieces, nephew and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Highland United Methodist Church, 7820 West Main Street, Highland, OH.
Rev. Mary Cyrus will officiate services with burial following in the Highland Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the church.
The Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of the arrangements.
