Pastor John M. Maggard

Pastor John M. Maggard RET., 70 years of Hillsboro, OH., died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Monticello, Ky.
He was born January 7, 1942 at McKee, KY., the son of the late Joe Maggard and Dorothy E. Hedrick Maggard of Hillsboro. Beside his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virgie J. Jones and Bertie Mae Alcorn.
John retired in August 2011 after 36 years as Pastor of the Hillsboro Church of God.
On March 4, 1962 he was united in marriage to Patricia Fronk Maggard who survives; mother, Dorothy Maggard of Hillsboro; one son Ronald E. Hopkins of Columbus, OH.; three grandsons, Evan, Tyler and Brandon; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. James L. and Kitty Maggard of Franklin, OH., William and Darlene Maggard of Germantown, OH., Rev. Robert and Beverly Maggard of Carlisle, OH., Thomas and Shirley Maggard of Carlisle, OH.; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Hillsboro Church of God, 5760 U.S. 62 South, Hillsboro, OH., where visitation will be held Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Pastor Daniel Hess will officiate.
Graveside service will be 2:30 P.M. Saturday at the Highland Cemetery in Miamisburg, OH.
The Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of funeral arrangements.
