Pastor Wiley B. Perkins

Pastor Wiley B. Perkins, 90 years of the Samantha Community, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022 at his residence.

Wiley was born March 10, 1932 in Magoffin County, KY., the son of the late Jackson Taylor and Ella Mae (Blair) Perkins. Beside his parents, Wiley was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Jean Perkins. On August 3, 1967, Wiley was united in marriage to Beverly (Brown) Perkins, who passed away on May 10, 2017 after 50 years of marriage. Wiley was also preceded by three brothers and three sisters.

Wiley served his Country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his service to his Country, Wiley went to work for Cooper Energy in Springfield, OH. and retired after 30 years of service. On December 10, 1971, the Samantha Freewill Baptist selected Brother Wiley B Perkins to serve there church as Pastor. Pastor Wiley retired from the church on 2022 after serving 51 years.

Wiley is survived by two sons, Jeffrey B. "Jeff" (Peggy) Perkins of New Vienna, OH. and Jonathan W. "Jon" (Jerisue) Perkins of Samantha; daughter, Kim (Richard) Blevins of New Vienna, special friend, Jeff Blevins of New Vienna, brothers, Larry Douglas Perkins and Thomas Perkins; sister, Connie Rice and several nieces, nephews, cousins, dog, Lulu and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday December 8, 2022 at the Samantha Freewill Baptist Church, 10211 St. Rt. 72, Leesburg, OH. 45135.

Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday December 7, 2022 at the church.

Pastor Edwin Hayes and Pastor Mike Brown will officiate.

Graveside Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday December 15, 2022 at the Rose Hill Burial Park in Springfield, OH with military rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
