Paul Karnes, 86 years died quietly at home Sunday Morning, October 8, 2006 on the same farm where he was born.
He was born on March 9, 1920 in Paint Township the son
of the late George and Josephine Towne Karnes.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ella Mae Ross Karnes, one son Kenneth Karnes and his wife Dr. Julie Karnes of Hillsboro, one daughter Judy and her husband Sam Rudy of Hillsboro one sister, Josephine Harner of Wilmington, five grandsons, Kevin and Ian Karnes, Matthew Penny Rudy, Howard Kristy Rudy, Joshua Adrienne Rudy, seven great grandchildren, Zachary, Ashley, Spencer, Rachel, Noah, Joseph and Abigail Rudy.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Jennie Karnes, six brothers, Carey Karnes, Joseph Karnes, George ?Bill? Karnes Jr., Isaac Karnes, William ?Pat? Karnes and Orville ?Bud? Karnes.
He was a member of the Falls Creek Friends Church, Highland County Senior Citizens and owned and operated the Paul Karnes Orchard.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at Thompson Funeral Home with Scott Lattimer officiating. Burial will follow in the Stringtown Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday evening from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
Memorials maybe made to the Falls Creek Friends Church, in care of Marjorie Cook, 700 E. Main #89, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133 or the Highland County Senior Citizen Center, 185 Muntz Street, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
